Dee’s piece below, Salmon Run, was chosen to be in Oregon State University’s 41st annual Art About Agriculture Competition and Touring Exhibition 2024: RESOURCEful. This touring exhibit focuses on the lifeblood of Pacific Northwest’s agricultural diversity, economy, communities, culture, and the region’s natural resources. Of the 386 art submissions to this competition, 53 works of art were selected. The exhibition will travel to three galleries over the course of six months (May 7th, 2024 - November 9th, 2024). Galleries that will host the exhibition include: the Giustina Gallery at LaSells Stewart Center on the OSU campus in Corvallis, OR; The Rotunda Gallery, Barber Library at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Or; and High Street Gallery at the Oregon Coast School of Art in Gardiner, OR.

Salmon Run celebrates salmon and salmon spawning. The original salmon illustration — digitally manipulated for this piece — was obtained online and is in the public domain. The fish image is a Coho Salmon Breeding Male and is from the Department of Commerce and Labor Bureau of Fisheries’ 1907 publication titled, The Fishes of Alaska (Coho Salmon are also present in Oregon). The fabric and print textures in this piece are also copyright-free and were obtained from the Smithsonian Institution Digital Collection.

The framed piece for this show measures 30.5” x 38” x 1”. The print was commercially printed using archival inks and the highest quality archival paper. 25 limited edition prints have been assigned to this image. This print is created upon request and can be printed in a range of sizes. If you would like more information, please contact Dee.
